HIS HANDS

In the center are the holes
beautiful scars
that do not frighten me
I will touch them
with tainted hands
and He will hold and protect
my skeleton soul


LIVING ART

Up ahead is a series of sculptures. They are not made of stone or cast from metal. These are living works of art. You touch them and realize the warmth of life. They are accessible to all.

THE HANDS OF GOD

Has an authority figure or parent ever used their hands to harm you? Do you flinch when someone moves toward you too quickly? The hands of God are not like that. He will never hurt us. His intent is not warped by sin. His motives are pure. He simply wants to love us and let us know that we are His.

SCARS

There are horrible scars in the hands of Christ. Jagged lines and gnarled flesh reveal brutal injuries. The blood has stopped flowing, but there will always be vivid reminders of what happened on that death post 2,000 years ago. These should be our scars. His hands should be smooth and unflawed. Look at your hands and think about how much He suffered to pay the price for humanity's disobedience. This is the true definition of love.

TEARS

Who catches your tears? Are you alone? Is there anyone there for you in times of pain and isolation? The hands of God hold every salty drop that streams down your cheeks. He is gentle and compassionate. He knows your thoughts and fears. You do not have to live with a sense of dread. He is more near than you can imagine.

PROTECTION

The hands of God form a shield of protection around your heart, mind and emotions. The pressures of this world cannot destroy you. He does not sleep. He is not distracted. You are His primary concern. No one is strong enough to guard their own life against the many enemies of this age. You need His help.
